    • Not yet, maybe they just made the spot for it without releasing the prose. The Tuesday email was bout how the sausage gets made and not a new release announcement so maybe we get it later today?

  2. Well that was just fantastic! The horse race kept me thinking about The Prince of Egypt when Rameses and Moses race. Fantastic prose and love getting Darrow’s meeting of Victra.

  3. Victra’s introduction was perfect for me. I was grinning ear to ear! This book is such a gift and I’m so grateful to have it. Keep them coming.

  4. These chapters were amazing. I have harbored so much hatred for Roque that I forgot how much I like him (and Tactus too). Also the Tactus/Darrow stuff was getting pretty steamy. And of course PB creates an entrance worthy of the Victra au Julii!!

  5. In case a Q&A is imminent for Book 3…

Ave, Pierce. How does it feel to breathe new life into characters that have already met their tragic end in the series? Roque is such a divisive character, but unanimously heralded as superbly written. Do you find yourself being more gracious to his characterization in these scenes for a more poignant connection? What about Lorn and Nero, who have much less “screen time” prior to these pages?

Also, can Victra be any fucking cooler? Because I doubt it.

    (Thanks, Carl!)

  6. I love(d) Tactus so much. It is nice seeing him again and enjoying his troubled personality. His dichotomy has been one of my favorites to witness develop.

  7. I really love this insight into the relationships between Darrow and Tactus and Roque and Mustang. It makes parts of the books so much more heart breaking in the most beautiful way.
